Power of Attorney
Lasting Powers of Attorney have been in force for nearly a year now and we have been at the forefront of their implementation. They remain an important aspect of an individual's personal legal affairs, second only possibly to an up to date Will.
An LPA can prove invaluable in saving time, worry and money if someone ever loses capacity as a result of an accident, illness or eventually old age. With an LPA you get to chose who you trust to handle your affairs rather than the Office of the Public Guardian appointing someone for you.
While the forms and guidance can appear daunting, we have considerable experience and resources to guide you through the process. If you would appreciate an Information Guide or a conversation to explore if an LPA would be of benefit to you and your family then please do contact our team.
Not all solicitors are the same - here is a link to an article in the Independent recommending that the public should consult specialist lawyers (accredited with STEP). We are proud to have one such accredited STEP practitioner and 3 more of our solicitors are currently in the process of securing their accreditation Summer 2009.
