The St Barnabas House Night to Remember 2015 – What a Night!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Saturday 27 June 2015 saw over 1,200 ladies from Worthing and the surrounding area gather at the Worthing Leisure Centre to take part in the eight St Barnabas House Night to Remember midnight walk.

The women taking part could chose to walk a 7, 13.1 or 20 mile route in and around Worthing and were greeted to register for their walks by some of the fantastic staff of Bennett Griffin who had volunteered to help at the event.

And the reason all these ladies had chosen to walk through the night? To raise money and support the fantastic work of St Barnabas  which offers care and support to people in the Worthing, Arun, Adur and Henfield areas, providing vital end of life care to over 1,400 patients each year.

This year’s Night to Remember was specifically to raise money for the Hospice at Home night service which was started in 2014 and provides hospice care in the home during those dark hours that patients and their families find so hard. By the time the ladies set off from the Leisure centre, included in their ranks a team of walkers from Bennett Griffin, ,St Barnabas announced a record fundraising figure on the night of £161,907.67. This will pay for the Hospice at Home night service for the whole of next year, providing care for patients in the comfort of their own homes.

A huge thank you must be given to all the fantastic volunteers and marshal’s as well as the amazing ladies who took part in the event. We are looking forward to next year already!
