Charity of the Year – Tree of Hope
Tree of Hope is a charity that helps to fund therapies for Theo, an amazing little boy (now 4 years old) from the local area who had severe brain damage at birth after an emergency caesarean section.
Little Theo was born at full term but suffered a complicated birth by emergency caesarean section. He was starved of oxygen for a considerable amount of time. After several attempts at resuscitation, ventilation, 72 hours of cooling and pneumonia Theo has survived to tell the tale.
As a consequence of his eventful entry into the world he suffered severe, permanent brain injury and now lives with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, secondary dystonia, epilepsy and cortical visual impairment.
The funds from Tree of Hope enable Theo to have the best physiotherapy and regular speech and language therapy so that, although he cannot talk, he can learn how to use communication aids and make his quality of life as good as possible.
Donations for Theo/Tree of Hope can be given on their Just Giving page.
