Bennett Griffin Original Olympics for Sport Relief!

On Friday 23rd March 2012, Bennett Griffin staff took part in an original Greek Olympic themed sports event to raise money for Sport Relief. A very fitting theme for 2012!

Dressed in authentic Greek costume (well…bed sheets, pillow cases, laurel wreaths and wigs!!), Bennett Griffin staff really turned the heads of the Ferring villagers as the events began.

The first two events, which were Welly Hockey and the Relay Bean Suck, took place in the Ferring Village Hall. It was such a beautiful day that we moved out to the village green for the remaining four events so we could enjoy the glorious sunshine. Events included the Chariot Race, Paper Plate Discus, the Torch Relay in Armour, and the Toga Wrap (the only equipment used for this event were the Partners of Bennett Griffin and toilet tissue!). The pictures below speak for themselves!

Each member of staff donated £2 for the privilege of dressing up and looking silly, and cakes made by the Bennett Griffin bakers were sold with all donations going to Sport Relief.

Prizes were awarded to the winners of each event, the overall winning office, the best fancy dress outfits and the highest sponsorship raised by an individual…a big thank you to Hannah Bennett who won this, the most important prize!

BBC Radio Sussex attended the Chariot Race, which was broadcast live on air on the Danny Pike show! The Worthing Herald also came along to check out the Bennett Griffin Greek Olympians in action.

We are pleased to announce that the staff of Bennett Griffin, together with other local businesses who attend networking groups, raised approximately £270! Yet another fantastic effort by Worthing businesses to raise money for such a worthy cause.
