The Will Writing Appeal provides you with an opportunity to ensure your wishes are secure in a Will whilst also helping to support a worthwhile local charity. In return for a donation* to either St Barnabas House or Chestnut Tree House, one of our experienced solicitors will meet with you to discuss your wishes and draft your Will.

When you pass away, your Will tells your family and friends two very important things; who you would like to give your money, property and possessions to and who you would like to be in charge of administering your estate.

Having a valid Will in place, prepared by specialist solicitors is essential for the following reasons:

  1. A Will makes it much easier for your family or friends to finalise your affairs when you pass away.
  2. If you don’t write a Will, everything you own will be shared out in accordance with rules set out by the government in law and known as the Intestacy Rules – which isn’t always the way you might want.
  3. A Will can help reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax that may be payable on the value of the property and money you leave behind.
  4. Writing a Will is especially important if you have children or other family who depend on you financially, or if you want to leave something to people outside your immediate family.

In order to ensure that what you leave behind passes to the people you intend; please contact our Bennett Griffin specialist solicitors Gema West on (01903) 706985 or Lucy Nevill on (01903) 706994. We will be pleased to work with you and discuss your individual needs in person.
