Bennett Griffin Supports World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2017

Reading Time: < 1 minute

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day will this year be taking place on Thursday 15th June 2017.

Elder abuse can take many forms and can be financial, physical, sexual, or psychological (emotional), or can be caused by neglect. It is estimated that 500,000 older people across the UK each year suffer from abuse, causing enormous pain and suffering.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day was created to educate people how to prevent abuse, or how to get help if they are being, or have been abused, or are at risk of being abused.

Bennett Griffin are proud to be members of Action on Elder Abuse and are accredited by Solicitors for the Elderly and Dementia Friends Champions.

As a firm we are keen to raise awareness locally of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and offer support to any concerned family, neighbours or attorneys who believe there may be signs of potential elder abuse of someone they love.

Therefore, in support of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Bennett Griffin are pleased to offer a free half an hour consultation with one of our Care, Capacity and Court of Protection specialist solicitors if the appointment is booked on the 15th June (with the appointment to then take place within 30 days of the booking.)

To make an appointment please call Ian Macara, head of the Care, Capacity and Court of Protection team on 01903 706956 and quote reference WEAAD17.

Additional information on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and the work of Action on Elder Abuse can be found at their websites.
