BG Support Benali’s Fight Against Cancer

Back in September this year, the staff at Bennett Griffin discarded their usual suits and formal attire in favour of football shirts to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The day was inspired by former Southampton footballer, Francis Benali, who wanted to raise £1,000,000 for the charity by challenging himself to run between the 20 premier league football stadiums in just 21 days…that’s a total of 1000 miles!!

We watched Benali’s progress with interest, and were very impressed when he reached the final stadium, St Mary’s in Southampton, on Saturday 13th September 2014.

You can find out more about Franny’s challenge on his website – Benali’s Big Run .

At Bennett Griffin, our fundraising efforts were a little more sedentary but we had a lot of fun and we managed to raise £167.20 for this very worthy cause. Dr Edd James, Lecturer in Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton, is quoted on Benali’s website as saying “Benali’s Big Run will fund a further 5 years research in the fight against cancer.” We are very proud to have played a small part in this fundraising.

Well done Franny Benali!
