Family cases ~ Pay as you go or traditional instruction?

In the present economic climate, funding legal proceedings can be difficult, particularly for those with limited resources.  Sometimes there will be no option but to represent yourself.  This in itself can be daunting and you may feel out of your depth or ‘wrong footed’, particularly, if your former partner or spouse is proceeding with the benefit of legal representation.  Here’s where we can help.  We can see you for one or more face to face consultations when required with a view to providing the specific advice or assistance you require. We can assist you with drafting or preparation or simply explain the procedures and the law relating to your particular case – basically a ‘pay as you go’ arrangement.  The ‘pay as you go’ arrangement will give you flexibility, leaving you with the control as to when you seek and pay for the advice required.  You may decide, for example, to undertake the preliminary stages yourself, but to employ our services at a later date, perhaps when representation at Court is required.  Whatever you decide, we can help.

On the other hand you may be looking for a legal champion to act for you from the outset.  The instruction of an experienced matrimonial lawyer may go without saying where for example, the issues are complex; you find resolution of your matrimonial issues too stressful to handle; you require the legal expertise and representation to ‘get it right’, or you seek to be protected perhaps from an overbearing former partner or spouse. When dealing with something as life changing as a divorce, we understand the importance of getting the decisions concerning the children and resolution of the property and finances right.  Our instruction at the outset of a matter can often prove to be more cost effective than a situation where we pick up instructions half way through.  Mistakes and omissions made by someone representing himself/herself through lack of knowledge or legal expertise can sometimes prove costly.

Whatever your needs or requirements – talk to us.  We are flexible and can work with you in a way that best suits your circumstances.
