Nutty or Not?

A French Family Court has refused to allow a couple from naming their daughter Nutella, Nutella being a commercial brand of hazelnut spread with cocoa.  The Court ruled that naming the child ‘Nutella’ was contrary to the child’s interest and would lead to ‘mockery or disobliging remarks’.  The child has now been named Ella.  French parents are usually free to choose the names of their children, but local prosecutors are empowered to report what they deem to be unsuitable names to a Family Court.
