Bennett Griffin’s Will Writing Process: Our Guide To Writing A Will

Reading Time: 3 minutes

At Bennett Griffin, we will help you through the process of either making a new Will, or reviewing your existing Will.

Many assume that their possessions will pass to their loved ones, but this is often not the case. If you die without a Will, your Estate will be distributed according to the Rules of Intestacy.

These rules may direct your assets to people who you may not wish to benefit. With blended families, inheritance, guardianship, and long-term care, it is important that you receive legal advice from one of our qualified lawyers who specialise in drafting Wills.

The Benefits Of Writing A Will

For some, making a Will can be a daunting experience, but we are happy to work with you. Here are some benefits to writing a Will.

The document can be used to:

  • Ensure your loved ones are protected after your death;
  • Choose who should care for your children;
  • Specify who will deal with your financial and personal affairs after your death;
  • Avoid your assets going to people you had not intended;
  • Protect your business interests;
  • Minimise the payment of Inheritance Tax due on your death;
  • Ease the administration of your affairs for your surviving family and help avoid any confusion or potential contention.

A well-thought-out and properly drafted Will can ensure that your wishes are carried into effect after you die and those you love benefit in the way you want.
