Red Nose Day / Sport Relief 2010

On Friday 19th March 2010 (Red Nose Day), Bennett Griffin held their first ‘Old School Sports Day’ in support of national charity, Sport Relief.

Members of staff competed in various events, including the egg and spoon race and the three legged race, in an inter-office challenge to win the ‘Cup of Champions’.  To add the comical element for which Red Nose Day is well known, staff were dressed in 80s sports gear!

Peter Bennett, senior partner at Bennett Griffin, said “I must admit that my heart was pounding when I discovered I was to enter the egg and spoon race.  However, being competitive by nature, I rose to the challenge and was quietly confident that I would win the race!  Everyone loves an excuse to have some fun and this allowed the whole firm to get involved.”

Despite some unfounded accusations of Peter using blu-tack to aid his victory in the egg and spoon race, the Ferring office stormed to victory and claimed the ‘Cup of Champions’!  We were also able to raise over £300 for Sport Relief, which transforms the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries.  We are thrilled to have been able to contribute towards this important work.

We plan to make the Sport Relief Sports Day an annual event, so check the website for more details early next year.
