Equality Newsflash! Civil Partnership (Opposite-sex Couples) Regulations 2019

After much campaigning by various individuals and groups, including a sizeable number of Resolution trained Family Lawyers, as of 2nd December 2019, opposite-sex couples are able to form civil partnerships in England and Wales. As such and in line with ensuring equality as to all related rights, the outcome is pending as to a public consultation, which ended in August this year, in relation to being able to convert civil partnerships into marriages for opposite-sex couples.

So, do have a chat with the Family team if you know of someone who needs more information as to the changes which are taking place and as to how we could assist with the drafting of any agreements which might consolidate and secure their relationship arrangements.
