International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day is on March 8th. It is a global day celebrating the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women worldwide. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
This particular day has occurred for well over a century, with the first International Women’s Day gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere – it is not specific to regions, jobs or cultures, it is a worldwide movement.

Each year, IWD carries a particular theme and this year the theme is #ChooseToChallenge, and by supporting International Women’s Day we are showing our commitment to choose to challenge inequality, call out bias, question stereotypes, and help forge an inclusive world.

As a firm we are proud that we have a high percentage of female partners to male, a higher percentage of female employees to male employees and since 2017, we are one of the few firms in the country with a female Managing Partner.

Kate Hallin, our Managing Partner had this to say: “I am proud of all of my female colleagues, shattering the glass ceilings and continuing to push for the equality that they deserve. It is sad that we still see negative reactions to female Lawyers even in 2021. I am raising both my son and my daughter in a more tolerant and inclusive world and I am running my business in the same way”

Here’s to women everywhere this International Women’s Day. Let’s all continue to #ChooseToChallenge!
